Our Lady of Fatima Parish, a part of the universal Roman Catholic Church

As Roman Catholics we are members of the “Holy, Catholic and Apostolic” church as described in the Nicene Creed we recite at Mass each Sunday.

  • Holy – Guided by the Holy Spirit from the birth of the church at the first Pentecost.

  • Catholic – meaning “universal” or open to all.

  • Apostolic – The church’s teaching authority derives from St. Peter and has continued through the succession of popes to Pope Benedict XVI
We are connected to Pope Benedict and the Vatican in Rome ( www.vatican.va ) through the Archdiocese of Boston under Archbishop Sean O’Malley. The website for the archdiocese is: www.rcab.org

We are also part of the West Region of the Archdiocese of Boston under our bishop, the Most Reverend Walter J. Edyvean. See map of vicariates and regions: www.apcboston.org/vicariate.cfm

Our Lady of Fatima is part of Vicariate I in the West Region. Our Vicar Forane
is Very Rev.James J. Laughlin, VF. He is also the pastor of St.Ann Parish and St. Zepherin Parish in Wayland.

Archdiocesan Pastoral Council Representative

Just as our parish has the Parish Pastoral Council to advise Fr. Bova Conti, the Archdiocese has the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council. Each parish in the archdiocese is assigned to a representative on that council. Our parish is represented by:

Mike Gilroy who can be reached at mgilroy@apcboston.org.

The goal of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council ( www.apcboston.org ) is to improve communication between parishioners and the Archdiocese. The APC meets with Archbishop Sean 4-5 times each year. Mike is not a spokesperson, but he is a conduit for communication.

Please feel free to contact Mike with any questions or feedback you have for the Archdiocese.
