![]() Mrs. Susan Murphy Director of Religious Education Susan Murphy has been Director of Religious Education at Our Lady of Fatima since 1986. Born and raised in Summit, New Jersey, she attended Syracuse University after high school, and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Framingham State College in 1997. In 1991, in collaboration with Congregation Beth El and the Sudbury United Methodist Church, Susan was part of the team that launched Students Together Opposing Prejudice. S.T.O.P. is an interfaith education initiative for young adolescents, which seeks to inform and empower young people around the issues of prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination. STOP has received national recognition from several sources including the White House in 2001.
For a number of years Susan also worked with the New Directions Program, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Boston, in collaboration with the Anti Defamation League, to facilitate Catholic/Jewish relations. She occasionally writes articles which have been published in The Pilot, PACE (Professional Approaches for Christian Educators), and occasional on-line magazines. For her own amusement she writes short stories, some of which have been published. susan@fatimasudbury.org |
