Home > Fatima Youth Ministry > Fair Trade Coffee Sales
Each month, the Fatima Youth Board will be selling Fair Trade coffee after all the weekend Masses. Generally, the sale will take place on the first Sunday of the month. Fair Trade coffee is coffee beans which have been purchased from growers at a price which provides them with a livable price per pound. In addition, the Fair Trade distributors design and support development projects in the coffee villages including health care in Guatemala; a prosthetics clinic for landmine victims in Leon, Nicaragua; well building in Miriam, Ethiopia; an eco-water buffalo project in Sumatra; and reforesting of sacred lands in Peru. Both the growers and their villages benefit from this project. All coffees are organic and roasted just before shipping. The Youth Board will be selling coffee and hot chocolate after all the weekend Masses once a month. The cost is $6.50 per pound for regular coffee beans, $7.50 per pound for decaf coffee, and $4.00 per pound for hot chocolate. Give us a try.
