Deacon John D. Nicholson

Deacon John Nicholson was ordained to the permanent diaconate by Bernard Cardinal Law on September 14, 2002 at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. At that time he was assigned to Our Lady of Fatima Parish. John grew up in Sudbury, where his family attended Our Lady of Fatima Parish. He was educated at Xavier High School in Concord until its closing and finished high school at Lincoln Sudbury. John and his wife Claire are both graduates of Boston College. They were married in 1980 and have made their home in Marlborough since 1983. Prior to being ordained to the Order of Deacon, John, together with his family, was active at St. Matthias Parish in Marlborough for many years. They were also very involved in the LifeTeen Youth Ministry Program at St. Ann and St. Mary Parishes in Marlborough. John and Claire have three sons; Michael and Stephen, who have graduated from college, and Joseph, who is attending Boston College. John is delighted to be serving at Our Lady of Fatima and is inspired by the many devoted parishioners of such a vibrant faith community.
