Middle School Grades 7-8

Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program. It provides a safe fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. Edge resources speak to the physical, psychological, cognitive, relational, and spiritual maturation of middle school youth.

Types of Edge Afternoons:
Semester- Our “Semester” sessions will be our catechetical sessions. Each Semester session has a “gather”, “proclaim”, “break”, and “send” component to keep our tens continually engaged. Our theme for the Fall 2019 semester is “The Artist”.

“The Artist” semester looks at the following: Who is God? Can we even know if God is real? What proof is there that God exists? What does this mean for my life? The question of the existence of God is one that can change the entire course of a person’s life.

Special attention should be given to these afternoons and making it a priority for our teens.

Issue- Our “Issue” sessions will focus on everyday issues that our teens face and how our faith calls them to respond. From bullying, social media, family life, friends, and beyond, we will support teens as they navigate the challenging years of junior high.

Social- These “Social” sessions allow our teens to grow as brothers and sisters in Christ through fun and exciting activities! It is extremely important to know that the Church is a place where they can have fun, create and sustain friendships!

Open Life House- This gives the teens the opportunity to hang out with each other in an unstructured, yet supervised, way.
